I'm Cristian Romero. Spelled without the H, though it still somehow ends up "Christian" on every coffee cup I order. I'm your independent licensed insurance broker. I got into this business because I watched too many people my parents' age get tangled trying to plan a future nobody had explained to them. My job is to take Medicare and turn it into a clear, honest conversation. Not a stuffy lecture. Not a sales pitch.

I work with American Senior Benefits, one of the country's largest senior-insurance networks, with 150+ carrier relationships and national endorsements from groups like the American Legion and AMVETS. We talk on the phone. You tell me your situation. I tell you whether I can actually help. If I can't, I'll point you somewhere that can.

If we keep going, we set aside a longer conversation (30–45 min). I'll have a Scope of Appointment ready (Medicare requires it). We walk through your doctors, your prescriptions, and what matters most to you.

Your Plan Comparison

I bring 2–4 options to the table. You see them side-by-side. We compare premiums, copays, drug costs, networks, and extras like dental and vision, and you pick the one that fits.

Your Enrollment, Only If It Fits

If a plan fits, I can enroll you on the spot, about 20 minutes. If nothing fits, I'll tell you that too. You're never obligated, and you stay in the driver's seat the whole way.

Common Questions

Does using a broker cost me anything?
No, never. My help is no cost to you. Your premium is set by the carrier, it's the exact same number whether you enroll through me or sign up directly with the company yourself. So you're not paying anything extra; you're just gaining a licensed broker in your corner. And once we start working together, I'm not the type to disappear after the paperwork's done. Questions about your coverage, a doctor visit that didn't process right, a prescription costing more than you expected, even a neighbor or loved one who's getting confused by all of this, that's what I'm here for. Think of me as your point person for everything Medicare.
Are you captive to one company?
No. I'm an independent broker contracted with all of the major Medicare carriers in Florida. That means I get to look at the full landscape with you and recommend the plan that actually fits your priorities. Lowest premium? Keeping your current doctors? Best prescription coverage? Travel benefits? Once I understand what matters most to you, I'll walk you through your best options, instead of being limited to the one plan a company employee is required to sell.
What does follow-up look like if I reach out?
You've got two easy ways. The simplest is to book a 15-minute call right on my calendar — you pick a time, I call you exactly then. Prefer not to lock in a slot yet? Either way, once we connect, you tell me what you want next and I follow your lead. And if we miss each other — it happens; unknown numbers get ignored, voicemails sit unread, schedules don't line up — I'll try a few times across different days until we actually connect. No spam, no pressure. I'm just not going to give up on someone who asked for help because the first call went to voicemail.
What if I'm already on a plan I like?
Perfect, and that's actually a great reason to still take a quick look. Medicare plans change almost every year: premiums shift, drug formularies get updated, provider networks change, and the extra benefits (dental, vision, OTC allowance) often look different from one year to the next. The plan that was the best fit last year might not be this year, and even if it still is, you'll have the peace of mind of knowing it. We'll spend 30 minutes side-by-side, and if your current plan is still the strongest option, I'll be the first to tell you. No obligation to switch. Just an honest look.
Do you do appointments in person or virtually?
Whatever works best for you. Honestly, I love meeting in person when I can, it's the best way to actually get to know each other and walk through plan options without anything feeling rushed. I'm based in Sarasota and licensed across all of Florida, so no matter where you live in the state, I can help. For in-person visits, I most often meet folks in Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, North Port, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples, Tampa, and St. Pete. If a phone call, Zoom, or screen-share fits your schedule better, or you're somewhere outside the Gulf Coast, that works just as well. Just tell me what's easiest for you and we'll go from there.
What types of Medicare plans do you work with?
All of them. Medicare Advantage (Part C), Medicare Supplement / Medigap, standalone Part D prescription drug plans, and the combinations that go with each path. The right setup depends on your doctors, your prescriptions, whether you travel, and what you want to spend each month. We'll walk through the options side-by-side and figure out which lane actually makes sense for you.
